Job after education is becoming harder and harder. Most of the people have mind for a high value or wheel chair job in the start. Yes, off course it could be but not in most of the cases. I will talk specifically that how peoples having biotechnology or microbiology rank their job. Keep remember that the difficult thing is to start a career, once you started then number of ways will becoming open to you to choose. Here briefly I am sharing some of my ideas with you people. If you think of a job then I hope any category
of the following can suit you.1. Those peoples who inherit good family status or high statute of mind for business can start their business after having a degree in hand. But the question is that how they will use their education in that business? If you have done biotechnology or microbiology, then I am sure that you can deal most of the current technologies and trends in medical line or in the profession of health. For example, they can start their business of medicines or medical instruments. In the start they can target some specific area on low scale. I can suggest you in instruments like surgery instruments, like small diagnostic kits to lab etc. Off course it is not an easy way but it is a safe way to build up your selves.
2. Those who are not interested in business can join any lab for a short time period to have hands on instruments and then can open their own diagnostic lab. It is not very tough job and within six months you can have your lab conducting the basic tests. You can grow your lab with the passage of time by contracting with different companies like Bio-Rad, etc or having one or few specialists’ doctors.
3. If you have no resources or courage to take the above steps, then you can also join any lab for conventional work. In the start they will give you salary of 8000-1000 rupees (depending on the lab) but gradually you will become the backbone of the lab because most of the peoples working in labs are just lab technicians and you are well qualified person.
4. If you do not like to work in lab, then easily you can join any pharmaceutical company. There are many pharmaceutical companies and they are hiring too but most of them are not advertising their jobs in newspapers, so you have to visit them personally. But let me add one thing that it is a tough job in regard of duty.
5. You are also allowed to join any non-governmental organizations (NGO’s). There are too many positions specifically for a person having such degree, likewise hygiene promoter, health educator, health concealer etc. Here you have also a chance to grow up if you stayed with them.
6. You can formally apply to university jobs of research assistant, lecturer. But for such jobs you will face a bit high competition, so why not start you career somewhere else and wait for such opportunities.
7. If you cannot do so, then why not work on any teaching academy. If you get repute and status in the following year peoples like you will come to you with a request that we want to teach here.
8. Number of hospitals and research organizations also advertises their internship positions, like Shoukat khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Agha khan University of Medical Sciences in Pakistan.
9. There are other options too, which I do not to discuss in separate sections, like becoming medical representative for any pharmaceutical company or having your own plants farm (ornamental or others) in home.
In the end I must advise you that after having your degree do not run for big opportunities solemnly because it needs luck and hard work and sometimes personnel relations (PRs) also. So why not to start any source for earning, the remaining you will learn slowly that where I can fit myself in the community better.
